ANA LAURA HERNÁNDEZ
I am a proud Mexican wine lover. I love wines thanks to my father, he taught me the principles of wine tasting and the pleasure of discovering new cellars. My first professional approach took place at University when I did a project about wines aged in a small wine cellar. After my studies, I had the opportunity to work in a razor manufacturing company. I had to leave the wine for a while, but when you are sure of what you really love, it is easy not to lose sight of the objective. That’s what happened to me, after six years working for Procter and Gamble in Mexico, I decided to go back to my first choice… wine.
Wine reflects a family memory in me. It is the perfect excuse to remind me that I have a purpose in life and wine is the best way to express it.
In addition to the sommelier certification, I obtained in my country, I had the chance to study in France and Spain to obtain a European Master’s degree in oenology and viticulture.
I arrived in Switzerland in the summer of 2019 as part of a personal project between my boyfriend and me. Switzerland has become a great adventure for both of us and we both appreciate its natural wonders and culture.
Thanks to my studies, I now have the huge opportunity to work in this field that I am passionate about and to enjoy the pleasures that the wine industry offers.
I met Lhney by chance at the welcome evening to newcomers to our community. She told me with great enthusiasm about L’Atelier du Fromage and how interested she and Johana were in starting to pair their artisanal cheeses with regional Swiss wines. That’s when the opportunity to be part of this new and exciting project called “Apéro box” presented itself. I look forward to applying my knowledge to explore Swiss wines and to share these discoveries with you.
L’Atelier du Fromage is an excellent opportunity for me to learn more about the enormous variety of cheeses that Switzerland has to offer. At the same time, it will be a pleasure for me to help guide consumers on the path to the pleasure that pairing cheese and wine can bring.
